Piccante Piccante

About

Our Salame piccante is inspired by our favorite nonna Settimia, Mina, and originates from Southern Italy. The flavor is hot like the sun in Calabria, but retains all of the character and freshness of Vermont pastures. We infuse it with oregano and sweet & hot pepper paste imported directly from a farm in Calabria that uses a process that is over 100 years old.

Handcrafted entirely by us at our USDA-inspected facility in Vermont.

Food & Farm Facts

In Europe, the Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) protects the reputation of selected regional foods by eliminating the unfair competition and misleading of consumers by non-genuine products. In the world of cured meats, Spain has 11 PDO products, France has 2 and Italy has 29. Wouldn't it be fun if Vermont developed its own?
